Meet the Maker

Hello, I'm Claire.

I've worked as a jewellery designer for more than 30 years, but my obsession with beads and making things started long before that.

It began with an old tin belonging to my grandmother, filled with jewellery, buttons and beads. I loved sorting through it, discovering little treasures and imagining what I could make with them.

That fascination eventually led me to study Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins in London and to a career designing jewellery for UK retailers, fashion brands and clients around the world.

Today, alongside my jewellery design work, I create craft kits and teach creative workshops.

The inspiration behind the kits is very personal too. My mum was an occupational therapist and embroidery teacher, and she understood the enormous value that making something with your hands can have for our overall wellbeing.

That idea sits at the heart of Claire Bentley Creative – creativity doesn't have to be complicated or perfect. Sometimes it's simply about giving yourself permission to stop, make and enjoy the moment.
